The power money and control of Big Pharma over research, medical journals,  university funding and doctors has tainted pure scientific ideals, says a new book The Illusion of Evidence-based medicine. The book exposes the dishonest practices  that lead to drug trial results being misrepresented and potentially dangerous drugs being passed by regulators and prescribed by doctors. The authors were involved in the expose of two potentially harmful antidepressants okayed for  children after negative trial results were glossed over and altered.
