Last night, the Nick Xenophon team helped end uncertainty regarding preservation of Australia’s marine parks, by voting the Coalition’s Marine Park Management Plans through the Senate.
Marine parks across Australia have not had proper protections since the end of 2013 so last night’s vote will help take a big step forward to protect these parks.
But will these protections be enough to keep our precious oceans and marine life safe from threats such as oil mining or fishing?
