An email has been sent to 90 Malaysian students warning them not to attend the Malaysian opposition leader’s talk at the Adelaide Festival of Ideas.

The email, purportedly sent by Malaysian consulate in Sydney student advisor Shahrezan Sheriff, told 90 JPA students their scholarships and grades could be damaged if they attend. This threat has outraged student representatives and supporters of democracy advocate Mr Anwar. They say it’s a violation of rights and the Australian government needs to address the issue with Malaysia.
