The Federal government has staked much of its political capital over the past few elections on its tough approach combating terrorism. But a new report by Monash University has found a hard line approach may not be the best way to stop terrorism. Instead the report says police should build better relationships with community groups in order to gain their trust and along the way gather solid evidence about any credible threats to civilians to do exist.
