In December 2014 all of Australia watched in horror as Man Haron Monis kept hostages at bay with a gun and threats of a bomb in Sydney’s Lindt Cafe. The siege lasted for seventeen hours and left two hostages dead and many unanswered questions about whether the unprecedented terror event could have been better handled and brought to a conclusion more quickly.
