Australian Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon was detained in Sri Lanka yesterday for three hours, the week before the country is set to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, CHOGM. The Senator was in Sri Lanka to speak with people about the state of human rights in the country post-civil war. She wanted to see if the Coalition’s policy of sending asylum seekers back was satisfactory.
