Labor makes big commitments on Indigenous Justice

Labor will commit $107 million to justice reinvestment programs and Aboriginal Legal services if it wins the next election.

Advocates have been campaigning for more justice reinvestment programs, which divert funding from prisons to address the causes of crime, to help drive down Indigenous imprisonment rates.

The party has also committed to including justice targets in each Closing the Gap report, another change advocates have been calling for some time.
