The Senate yesterday passed an amended bill calling on all children to be released from Australian detention centres in the next 30 days. However, the amendments are likely to be struck down in the House of Representatives. The bill also does not address the ongoing issue of children being held in offshore detention on Nauru, who look likely to spend another Christmas in detention.
