Julia Gillard has won a resounding victory over Kevin Rudd in the ALP leadership contest, and now she says its time to refocus on the community. One former minister in the Keating government – who saw the leadership tensions between Keating and Hawke up close – told The Wire that the party can recover from today’s fallout. Michael Lavarch was Attorney General in the Keating Government between 1993 and 1996.
