Town planner and PhD student at the University of Technology Sydney, Allan Teale  discovered his Indigenous heritage at age 40, after his wife undertook a family tree.

The young Indigenous academic said he always felt a connection to land and  is part of a design team at UTS working to revitalise  two New South Wales communities located in the central west, where Allan’s ancestors are originally from.

Lake Cargelligo and neighbouring town, Murrin Bridge, are at the centre of a dual plan to establish vibrant new community and recreational hubs by transforming and reimagining neglected buildings and public spaces.
