New data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics has revealed that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are consuming too much added sugar, while not enough of the five major food groups according to Australian Dietary Guidelines. The affordability of unhealthy food in contrast to healthier options has been criticised by some.
