Australia’s arts sector has received a massive boost today, with the Federal Government committing $235 million to its new cultural policy initiative, Creative Australia. A revamped Australia Council and support for filmmakers were among the details of the policy, but it was the Indigenous arts sector that was one of the biggest winners, with an injection of $54 million.
