The Banking Royal Commission has turned its attention to the superannuation sector this week, focussing on the difficulties Indigenous Australians face when it comes to accessing their super.

Language, low income and low financial literacy are barriers that stand in the way of remote Indigenous communities and their engagement with the industry.

While NGOs and foundations are determined to raise standards, the commission has urged for better support throughout the entire sector, to ensure fair and equitable access to all.
