Great Barrier Reef assessment shows fertiliser run-off damage

The Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt, Queensland Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney and Environment Minister Andrew Powell have released the draft strategic assessment for the Great Barrier Reef, which outlines on the current health of the reef.

Mr Hunt says the most significant problem facing the reef is run-off from industry and domestic activity.The UNESCO world heritage centre’s suggestion to list the world wonder as “in danger” prompted the review.
