Research from The ABS indicates that the level of Indigenous suicides is at its highest rate in more than 50 years.
From a racial perspective the rate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suicides is currently 2.6 times higher than the suicide rate of non-Indigenous Australians.
While one in 9 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who are alive today have spent time in prison at some point in their life.
