Image: 'Gorge Landscape', Fred Williams, 1981. National Gallery of Australia

Fred Williams is considered one of Australia’s most influential and important landscape artists. His work redefined not only Australian landscape painting, but the way in which Australians themselves viewed their country.

The Wire’s Daniel Fitzgerald went along to a preview of the exhibition and spoke to Ron Radford and took a tour of the exhibition with Williams’ widow, Lynn Williams and discussed some of the paintings.
