First genetic map of the cerebral cortex created

With more than 180 scientific institutions involved and more than 300 scientists working on the brain, a new research created the first genetic map of the cerebral cortex, commonly known as grey matter.

Scientists believe there is a link between the grey matter and 306 variants that affect the brain, bringing more possibilities of studying brain conditions and mental health issues.
