Family law to be simplified under ALRC recommendations

The Australian Law Reform Commission argues the Family court should be abolished and replaced with state courts, among 60 recommendations for the reform of the Family Law system.

Other changes include removing the presumption that it is best for children to have parents share equal responsibility for their care when courts make parenting orders as well as a host of simplifications to the law to speed up the process of trials.
