Explosion rocks Beirut, at least 100 dead, 4000 wounded

Chaos this morning in Lebanon’s capital as a massive explosion destroyed Beirut’s major port and countless other buildings.

With dozens dead and thousands wounded, those numbers are expected to rise.

The destruction is believed to have been caused by thousands of tonnes of ammonium nitrate being improperly stored for 6 years in a building in the port.
