Dr Philip Nitschke’s biography Damned if I Do reflects back on his life as an activist. He says the time in 1996 when he was able to legally administer lethal injections was so challenging he was glad to delegate the actual moment of injection to a computer.

Euthanasia was legal for 8 months in the Northern Territory in 1996, and Nitschke assisted four terminally ill people to die using a remote control device.
