Elephant poaching is ramping up in central Africa with a report showing 11,000 killed within one National park since 2004. The World Wide Fund for Nature is targeting Thailand’s role in the illegal world trade.

With an international meeting about endangered species being held in Bangkok next month, the WWF is petitioning the Thai Prime Minister to close a legal loophole which allows African ivory to make its way to Thailand’s markets.
