Professionals providing services to disabled Australians say they’re not surprised a government report has found disabled people are seeking assistance in ever increasing numbers. The Australian Institute of Health and Wellbeing report found three hundred and fourteen thousand people used disability services in the 2010- 2011 financial year. That’s an increase of 7 percent over from the previous year and a 45 percent increase since 2006. Brent Diverty was one of  the contributors to the report. He says changes in population demographics and government funding models could explain the rise.
