Direct action climate change auction avoids fossil fuel emissions

The first round of successful projects under the government’s Direct Action policy to tackle climate change have been announced. But experts say the plan is inefficient and focused too much on land carbon emissions. At the current rates, the government spent over a quarter of it’s 2.55 billion dollar budget, to pay for what amounts to 20% of Australia’s current emission reduction target of 236 million tonnes for 2020.
