This week was Perinatal Depression and Anxiety Awareness week, aiming to open the conversation about depression and anxiety during the perinatal time. New research from Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia (PANDA) suggests that around 100,000 Australian families pass through these disorders.

But the disorders don’t only affect 1 in 5 women, they also affect 1 in 10 men, and the awareness week aims to bring families and the community together to bring experiences on how to manage depression and anxiety during pregnancy.

PANDA also offers a helpline for those who are getting through perinatal depression and anxiety.
