In the US the Democrat party has traditionally claimed to be the party of the working classes and has relied upon working people and unions for support. Thomas Frank’s book Listen Liberal was a warning that came to late to the party to realise that their working class base had finally deserted them as they continued to ignore income equality and focus on the educated elite.
