In NSW, the O’Farrell Government has made a 50 percent cut in the numbers of staff whose primary focus was climate change. As three massive fires in NSW threaten to merge into one mega-fire across the Blue Mountains and Lithgow area, cuts to climate change programs have left some scratching their heads.

By greatly reducing staff at The Office of Environment and Heritage, resources aimed at the investigation and preparation for the effects of climate change have been significantly reduced.
