Melbourne’s Yarra Council will consider a number of proposals to change the way January 26 is marked, challenging the traditional Australia Day celebrations.
After extensive consultations with local Aboriginal and broader Yarra communities, the council recognised that it was time to implement new strategies for a day that signifies sadness for many.
