Could gay conversion be banned as consumer fraud?


Gay conversion therapy is still practised in Australia, a “cure” to turn gay people straight. However a monumental case in New Jersey USA has declared this reparative therapy as consumer fraud. It has opened a discussion in Australia about the damages of gay conversion therapy including mental illness, anxiety, post traumatic stress and suicidal tendencies. The case may also inspire cases under Australia’s consumer protection law.
