But with new research showing that the "tipping points" ushering in the worst, most irreversible effects of global warming will be triggered quicker than previously expected, experts are worried the longer we wait to deal with the problem, the more it will cost us in the future.

A lot of the public conversation surrounding climate change has centered around how much money it would cost people in the short term to act to combat it. What’s often left out of the discussion are the net benefits of climate action and how we can actually profit from measures to soften the impact of global warming.
