Committee urges further support for victims of slavery

Victims of slavery and human trafficking could receive support without having to assist criminal prosecutions under recommendations in a parliamentary report released recently.

The Joint Committee on Law Enforcement also recommended the commonwealth speed up the process of family reunification for victims of slavery and establish a national compensation scheme to those affected.
