When The Wire last interviewed opposition environment spokesperson, Greg Hunt, we asked him which independent experts support his plan. He mentioned seven names in his answer. When we contacted them, two said that they hadn’t heard of the plan, and one said that it would need a lot of changes before he could “accept it as the best option”.

In his response to our story, Greg Hunt said that he didn’t cite the Nobel laureates as supporters, and that he was drawing attention to their low opinion of carbon taxes.
