The Australia Institute argues we could halt the construction of new coal mines with barely any economic ill-effects.

It’s drawn a sharp response from mining and resource groups, with the Australian Minerals Council saying the Australia Institute had overlooked the value created by the sector and its employment of some 44 000 workers.
