Closure of superannuation loophole offers hope for underpaid

The federal government will close a legal loophole allowing some employers to underpay workers who contribute towards their own superannuation after an inter-agency report was released today.
The Superannuation Guarantee Cross Agency Working Group urged the change, which echoes the recommendation of an earlier senate committee inquiry into the non-payment of the superannuation guarantee.
Many stakeholders have welcomed the change, but want more to be done to help what is often a complex and difficult situation to remedy.
