Life for women living in rural Australia can be isolating. Simple things like meeting new people, sharing ideas and getting inspired can be hard. The brand new Festival of the Rural Woman hopes to change that through an online event connecting women around Australia and sharing their stories. The festival launches today ahead of the UN International Day of Rural Women on October 15. The Wire spoke with some of the women involved about challenging stereotypes and the reality of rural life
