The Adelaide Festival has injected a bit of historical literature into its proceedings with the Portuguese production ‘By Heart‘ by director and actor, Tiago Rodrigues.

Requested by his grandmother to choose a final novel for her to memorize by heart before the failing of her eyesight, Rodrigues originated his production through inspiration from his grandmother amongst the works of notorious names in literature including William Shakespeare and Ray Bradbury.

The show incorporates Rodrigues inviting ten audience members on stage to learn a poetic text by heart before the show’s climax.
