Continuing our exploration of what organisations want from the 2015/2016 budget, today The Wire looks at dementia care. The rates of dementia are set to skyrocket, in 2050, it’s expected that there will be 7,400 new cases of dementia each week. Dementia already places a large burden on aged care services and hospitals because of the need for specialised care, and it is set to worsen without further funding.
