Brazilian President still faces social and economic challenges

Dilma Rouseff has today been re-elected for her second term as the President of Brazil. In the closest and most polarising election in Brazil in recent decades, a margin of just 2.9 per cent separated President Rouseff, Leader of The Workers’ Party, from her opponent Aecio Neves, of the Social Democratic Party. With increased inflation and ongoing social instability forecast for Brazil, President Rouseff will continue to face economic and social challenges.
