A body suspected to be Indigenous activist Santiago Maldonado has been found in a river 300 metres from where he was last seen.

Maldonado’s family have questioned the efficiency of the search for Santiago, saying the body was found in an area that had already been searched three times.

This development comes just days before senate elections in Argentina, and is just another media storm in what has been a dramatic campaign period.
