You ride a bike, you should wear a helmet, right? Well, by law, yes. But a new study suggests that helmets might not actually be that useful in preventing injury, and could be providing a disincentive to potential cyclists taking up the practice. But as bike riders grapple for legitimacy and a greater share of road space, is this kind of research a help or hindrance to the cyclist cause?
