The Australian Government recently introduced a new Code of Practice for ‘Internet of Things’ device manufacturers, with the intention of deceasing the security risks associated with such devices.

However, some experts fear that as the Code is simply voluntary, it will be ineffective at giving consumers the security protections they need.

With more and more home-devices being connected to the internet, these protections are more important than ever.
