Paramedics suffer the most violent cases of any emergency response services in Australia, despite their highly significant role to protect Australians.

Between 2001 and 2014, Public Health Research and Practice have indicated that both verbal and physical assault have increased significantly. Injury as a result of physical assault has tripled in that time, whilst injuries to paramedics in a single year alone cost approximately $250,000.

Although reporting cases has increased, many are still dismissed by paramedics themselves, yet in just NSW there were 400 violent instances in 2019.
