The Australia-China Relations Institute (ACRI) accused the Australian media of inaccurate reporting by reviewing information from news articles that painted China in a negative light.

The report by ACRI attempted to disprove information reported by media outlets such as the Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian on issues of Chinese spying and Chinese donations in Australian politics.
