Australia stalls on international mercury convention

While the Australian government has recently ratified the Paris Climate agreement, it’s failed to ratify another international treaty targeting air pollution.

The Minamata Convention was formed in 2013, to reduce environmental and human exposure to mercury.

Three years after signing it, Australia is still yet to ratify the agreement.
