Australia affected by US tariffs despite exception

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has negotiated an exception from trade tariffs that will effect steel and aluminium imports to the United States of America. Steel will have a 25% tariff, whilst aluminum will be at 10%.

Although the tariffs wont directly impact Australia, due to the exception, Shadow Minister for Trade, Jason Clare, is concerned that this could lead to an international trade war or upset the local market due to the global nature of our trade system.
