This week, volunteers in Australia and around the world will mark International Volunteers Day, which acknowledges the work of volunteers in economic and social development. One volunteer who will be celebrating the occasion is Beth Gigger – she spent 12 months working as a volunteer in Timor-Leste, where she helped to strengthen communications with women and young people about sexual and reproductive health.
