Arts funding remains stagnant after federal budget

The main funding body for the arts, The Australia Council, has survived unscathed after the federal budget, but faces an ongoing struggle to meet growing demand in the community.

After quite large cuts under the Abbott government, the body has seen the number of artists it is able to support dwindle to well below the last year of the Gillard-Rudd government.
