Amnesty International report on use of the Death Penalty

The Amnesty International report into the use of the death penalty around the world found that the number of countries using it has been decreasing steadily over the years. Although, it still remains in use in a number of countries.

Australia may hold a position that allows it to help end the use of the death penalty in nearby countries. With Amnesty International urging the Australian Federal Government to use its seat on the UN Human Right Councill to push for its abolition.
