Medical practitioners have called for government funding of alternative medical treatments to be stopped until they can be scientifically proven. They claim many of the treatments have no benefits and can cause harm, so unless they can be backed by evidence, government support is a waste of public funds. But alternative medical practitioners argue there is evidence showing alternative treatments work and the impact on tax payers’ money is very small.
