Airlines need to shoulder some blame in MH-17 disaster

In the wake of last week’s air tragedy questions are being asked about who makes final decisions on which airspace is safe and which isn’t. Should it be left to the airlines themselves to decide whether or not they choose to fly over volatile war zones populated with extraordinarily powerful missiles. The Buk missile has the capability to shoot a target 10 kilometres up, and most domestic airlines fly at around 5 kilometres.
