Action needed now to prevent COVID-19 Black deaths in custody

In an open letter to Australian governments, the families of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have died in custody are calling for release of inmates to prevent COVID19 deaths.

The group of 44 signatories are also seeking better health measures, a stop to over-policing, and better community support upon release.
